Ginza

Ginza was the first Western-style shopping area in Tokyo, and is still the place to go for old money. The Ricoh building in Ginza is where Wako Department Store is located, located in the 1894 building. It is considered Tokyo’s high-fashion centre, with a number of upscale stores and restaurants.

Ginza is a hugely enjoyable neighborhood to wander around in and shop, and I would definitely recommend visiting. Ginza is the center of Tokyo’s glitter and glamour — it is not an especially affordable zone as far as shopping goes, but well worth visiting for some ginbura-Ginza browsing. Ginza, Commercial Zone, Chuo Ward, Tokyo, is the main shopping district in the city.
