Privacy & AI usage
Who operates this service
YouTripJapan is operated by Y Technologies (株式会社Y Technologies), represented by 武井勇樹. The head-office address published by the operator is 京都府京都市中京区一蓮社町303-201, Japan. The company-information and contact links below lead to the operator’s official website. This notice covers YouTripJapan, not every service on that separate website.
Your preferences and saved kit
The kit asks for Tokyo trip length (1–7 days), interests, walking pace and Japanese reading aids. It does not ask for your name, exact travel dates, booking references, health or payment information. Preferences are saved automatically in this browser’s local storage as you edit. The assembled kit is saved only when you choose “Save on this device”. It includes preferences, catalogue IDs/version and creation/expiry timestamps.
A saved kit is usable for 30 days from creation. Expiry stops it being loaded; it does not automatically erase the stored bytes. Draft preferences have no automatic expiry. Use “Clear saved data” to remove this app’s saved kit and draft, or clear site data in your browser. Kits do not sync across devices. Checkmarks are not saved. The sample does not read or change your saved kit.
AI usage: simulation only
The basic kit is assembled in your browser using fixed rules. Live AI is disabled. No travel prompt or preference is sent to an external AI provider by this feature.
If you choose “Try the simulation”, the browser sends structured preferences, catalogue/schema version, a mock-mode flag and a random operation ID to this site’s server. A mock provider returns catalogue IDs; it does not contact an AI provider. The operation ID, a preference hash and the result are held in Worker-isolate memory for duplicate-request handling. Results have a ten-minute reuse window. Expired completed records are cleared on a later simulation request or when the isolate ends, not necessarily exactly ten minutes after creation. Aggregate isolate-level counters limit usage. Simulation results are not saved in your kit or printed.
Live AI is not offered. Before any future activation, this notice would be updated to identify the provider, data sent and relevant handling. AI assistance was used to prepare and check site content; that is separate from running your travel kit and does not mean the content was independently reviewed by a human expert.
Optional Trip Companion accounts and paid AI
The separate Trip Companion supports Google sign-in. Cloudflare D1 stores your Google account identifier, email, session hashes, trip preferences, saved itineraries and usage records. A secure session cookie lasts up to 30 days; a sign-in state cookie lasts up to 10 minutes. The free basic kit remains usable without an account.
When you use paid Trip Companion AI, we send OpenAI your trip preferences (language, start date, cities and days, hotel area if supplied, interests, pace, party counts and daily budget), your question, relevant saved itinerary context and selected catalogue content with source references. Saved itinerary context can include previously planned place IDs and the day being edited, including its note. Google account identifiers, email and payment details are not included by the Companion in this AI request; information you enter in questions or trip fields can still be sent. Response storage is disabled in the API request, but OpenAI’s processing and retention policies still apply. Do not enter sensitive information. Temporary AI operation data is cleared after delivery when possible. Remaining operation data becomes eligible for cleanup after 30 days and is removed during subsequent service activity; cleanup does not run while the service is inactive. Saved trips remain until you delete them. Raw questions are not intentionally logged.
Stripe handles checkout, payment details, tax calculation and subscription management. We retain Stripe identifiers, access periods and usage/cost records. Account deletion cancels future billing and removes saved trips and sessions; required payment records are retained. We do not store card numbers.
Language and browser controls
An intentional English or Japanese page visit sets the first-party ytj-locale cookie for up to one year. It remembers language, not analytics. You can remove it through browser site-data controls. The in-app clear button removes kit data, not this cookie or hosting authentication cookies. Printed or downloaded PDFs are under your control and are not removed by clearing the kit.
Hosting and technical data
Cloudflare hosts this service and processes requests to deliver pages, operate server features, diagnose errors and protect the site. Technical information can include IP addresses, browser information, request paths, timestamps and response status. The travel-kit code does not deliberately log your preferences or forward them to an external AI service. This is not a promise that the hosting infrastructure collects no data.
Cloudflare’s infrastructure and subprocessors may process information internationally. Technical-log retention varies with the log category and hosting configuration; the kit’s 30-day usability period is not a retention period for hosting records. The provider information linked below explains Cloudflare’s handling. Contact the operator for questions or requests about information associated with this service. The staging address is a review copy with indexing discouraged; it does not require an account to use the kit.
Optional Google Analytics
With your permission, Google Analytics measures visits to selected public pages and the published Instagram campaign. Google processes cookie identifiers, browser/device information, and network information (including your IP address during transmission) to provide analytics. We send canonical public page addresses without query strings, fixed campaign labels, and a generic page title. We do not send account identifiers, email, payment details, saved itineraries, or AI questions. Account and Companion pages are excluded. Purchase events are not currently collected.
Google tags do not load until you allow analytics. Rejecting analytics does not affect the service. Change or withdraw consent through Analytics privacy settings at the bottom of the page. Your choice and analytics cookies expire after 180 days; withdrawing clears this site’s Analytics cookies and stops future collection. Withdrawal does not delete data already processed by Google. Google may process data internationally under its privacy policy. Google Signals, advertising personalization, and Google Ads linking are not used.
External requests and links
Advertising and affiliate tracking are not enabled. CMS catalogue reads are disabled. The basic kit uses the bundled catalogue. Optional paid Companion checkout uses Stripe as described above.
The existing weather endpoint retrieves public forecast data from the Japan Meteorological Agency through our server; it does not send your kit preferences to that agency. Some legacy image components can retrieve images directly from Unsplash or other configured image hosts when such content is displayed. The home page’s travel photographs are served from this site.
Following official references, map links or company/contact links takes you to an external service with its own privacy practices. The operator’s separate website has its own forms and optional tracking choices. YouTripJapan does not submit those forms or grant tracking consent for you.
Contact and changes
For questions, correction or deletion requests relating to this service, use the operator contact page below and identify YouTripJapan. Do not include passwords, full booking documents or sensitive information unless the operator has specifically requested it through an appropriate channel. Data stored only in your browser can be removed using the controls described above. This notice will be updated when the service’s data flows change.
